The Solar Decathlon Competition is hosted and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.The first competition convened on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. in 2002, and the competition has run biennially since 2003. The next competition will be in the fall of 2009.
